Definition of Data Room

A data room is where a startup's key documents are stored. A data room is an essential tool for startup's raising money from investors or selling the company. In either situation, there will be due diligence conducted on the company to ensure there are no serious issues with the company, and investors or acquirers will expect to be given access to a thorough, well-organized data room.
